[英超]水晶宮解僱 Ian Holloway [復制鏈接]

Crystal Palace will part company with Ian Holloway today after just one victory in his opening eight Premier League games, ITV Football understands.

The club have called a press conference for 5:30pm this evening.

The final straw for Ollie was Monday night's humiliating 4-1 defeat at home to Fulham, when Palace started the match brightly and took a deserved early lead.

Holloway was appointed at Selhurst Park on November 3rd 2012, less than one year ago, and guided them to promotion against all the odds, via the Championship play-offs.

Given the circumstances and his extremely tight budget, many will feel Holloway has not been given a fair chance to turn things around at the club.

Chairman Steve Parish described Holloway as "categorically the right man" to lead Crystal Palace before their defeat to Fulham

其實成績方面係預左, 不過佢都有d問題嘅.... 同上次(blackpool)一樣, 防守完全搞唔掂, 咁真係死得.... 咁多年要留級嘅球隊, 絕大部份都係要從防守著手, 靠進攻而留得低嘅真係少之又少....

其中一個最"論盡"嘅例子係, 佢呢個暑假喺法國嗰邊簽左個後防返黎, 最後竟然冇reg佢入聯賽25人大軍...... 係買得差又好, 組隊唔夠平均又好, 咩原因都好.... 執後防呢點佢真係唔合格....

Ian Holloway leaves his job as Crystal Palace manager

Ian Holloway has left his job as Crystal Palace manager after several rounds of crisis talks.

He appeared at a press conference in central London this evening with co-chairman Steve Parish when his departure was announced.

Holloway's position at the club had looked shaky since his side were beaten 4-1 by Fulham on Monday night.

He was called in to talks with Parish after the game with further key discussions said also to have taken place on Tuesday.

Palace have won just once in nine matches this season and remain second from bottom of the Premier League, five points from safety.

Holloway took charge at the club just under a year ago and took them into the Premier League. But before the press conference was announced, Parish already seemed to be planning for a return to the second tier.

He said: "We've tried to get a squad that can keep us in this division, but also be a very strong squad in the Championship should the worst happen.

"When you go down it's about what state you're in. You have to plan for both eventualities and we'll do our best to stay up. It might be about whether there are three worse teams."
