Forward becomes eighth new addition of the summer


Cardiff City Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Peter Odemwingiefrom West Bromwich Albion, subject to Premier League ratification.
Peter becomes Malky Mackay's eighth signing of the summer transfer window, linking up with the Bluebirds on a two year deal.
An international attacker with over fifty caps for Nigeria, Peter joined WBA from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow in 2010.
He made 90 first-team appearances in all competitions for the Baggies, scoring 30 Barclays Premier League goals.
Peter completed his medical on Monday afternoon and will link up with his new team-mates later this week.
Speaking exclusively to Cardiff City Player, Peter said of the move: “I'm delighted to complete my move to Cardiff City.
I'm looking forward to this fresh start at a Club that is really going places, a team that's progressing fast.
“My father-in-law is a City fan and he's told me what a great club this is. I'm looking forward to meeting up with the boys and
then start preparing for the trip to Hull after the international break.
"I've seen a little bit of the City and I know that my wife and I will really enjoy living in Cardiff. I can't wait to get started - this move makes me very happy."

Transfer News: Swansea boss Michael Laudrup confirms interest in Peter Odemwingie



Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has admitted West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie is on his list of transfer targets.

Laudrup is keen to bolster his attacking options before the close of the transfer window and he is weighing up a move for unsettled Albion man Odemwingie.

Odemwingie is out of favour at The Hawthorns and has been told he does not figure in Steve Clarke's plans after failing to push through a move to Queens Park Rangers in the January transfer window.

The likes of Stoke, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace are all thought to be chasing Odemwingie and Laudrup has confirmed he is an admirer of the Nigerian.

"We want to add one more who can give us that in a certain part of the game or in certain games," Laudrup told the South Wales Evening Post

"And he (Odemwingie) is a player with pace who knows the league."

West Brom's Peter Odemwingie wants Swansea move

WEST BROM striker Peter Odemwingie has his heart set on a move to Swansea – but they will have to increase their offer.



The Swans have already had a £1.8m bid rejected by the Baggies, who are still mulling over £2m bids from Stoke and Cardiff.

Odemwingie wants to play European football this season, something only the Swans can offer.

Baggies are determined to sell to the highest bidder and the Swans are now preparing a fresh offer.
