Kyle Walker to miss England friendly against Denmark
Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker will not be fit for England's friendly against Denmark on Wednesday, according to Spurs boss Tim Sherwood. The 23-year-old could still link up with Roy Hodgson's squad, but Sherwood thinks the defender will not be ready to play after a hip injury.
Walker missed Spurs' 1-0 victory over Cardiff on Sunday, and Sherwood said: "He won't be fit for England."
Spurs' Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen will also be absent.
The 22-year-old is still recovering from a back injury which forced him to also miss Sunday's game at White Hart Lane.
Sherwood said Walker would "probably" link up with England as they will be spending time at Spurs' training complex.
"We're just hoping to nurse him back to fitness for next week [against Chelsea], so we'll see how that goes," he added.
"Christian Eriksen won't be ready for Denmark either."
Walker's absence makes it almost certain Glen Johnson will start at right-back for Hodgson's men, thereby winning his 50th cap.
Everton centre-back Phil Jagielka is already absent because of a hamstring injury.
Wednesday's game at Wembley is the final chance for Hodgson to see his players in action for the national side before he names his squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
