Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster earns his place in Scottish football history22 February 2014 02:55 PM By Dailyrecord.co.uk
THE England internationalist broke Bobby Clark's record for consecutive clean sheets during Celtic's 2-0 win at Tynecastle this afternoon. CELTIC goalkeeper Fraser Forster set a new Scottish league shut-out record after keeping Hearts out for the first 31 minutes at Tynecastle on Saturday afternoon. Forster broke
Bobby Clark's previous record of 1,155 minutes without losing a goal, which the former Aberdeen goalkeeper achieved in the 1970-71 season. The England international had kept 12 consecutive Scottish Premiership clean sheets before the visit to Edinburgh,
last conceding a league goal when Aberdeen's Niall McGinn scored past him at Celtic Park on November 23. The 25-year-old did not have a shot to save during a goalless first-half hour at Tynecastle,
although he fumbled a 21st-minute cross from Jamie Hamill before gathering at the second attempt.
Forster maintained the clean sheet until the final whistle with Celtic winning the match 2-0.
