Liverpool ace is £10m target for Spanish giants



Liverpool star Daniel Agger is reportedly a £10million target for La Liga giants Barcelona, as they look for a replacement for Carles Puyol.

As Agger could move one way, Liverpool are looking at Ajax’s Toby Alderweireld, according to Sunday Mirror.



Replacement



Puyol is close to retirement, and Barcelona are looking for centre back replacements and feel that Agger of Liverpool is the right player to do so, the newspaper claims.

Agger is linked with Barcelona and could be the subject of a £10million offer, as Liverpool have dismissed that the Dane could leave for £7million, the report states.

Barcelona are hoping the £10million will tempt Liverpool into selling the defender, but the Reds will have to find a replacement first before selling the Danish international.

The Sunday Mirror suggests Liverpool may already have a replacement in mind, as the Reds are monitoring the availability of Ajax defender Alderweireld.

It is said by the newspaper that Liverpool have been long term admirers of the defender and are now looking to step up their interest.

The Belgian international only has one year left on his current contract, so Liverpool are looking to sign the defender for a cut down price which is around £6million, according to the paper.
