Chelsea to move for Samuel Eto'o and Willian as Anzhi Makhachkala plan dramatic clear out

Earlier today Anzhi released a statement saying they wouldd be changingthe way they were doing business as they looked to cut their budget byalmost ￡50m a year.

And according to reports in Spain, that has alerted Chelsea to the availability of Samuel Eto'o and Willian.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Jose Mourinho will move for Eto'o after managing the player during his time at Inter Milan.

Chelsea were also hotly linked with Willian when he made the move fromShaktar Donetsk to Anzhi in January for ￡30m, and it looks like they mayrevisit their interest in the player with the Russian club looking tosell.

A statement on Anzhi's website suggests that the cut-backsare part of an attempt to comply with UEFA's financial fair play rule,with the club putting increasingly greater focus on home-grown playersat the same time as looking to offload "big signings" who have notbrought the Anzhi the success the club craved.

Anzhi's president Konstantin Remchukov said on Twitter: "The main news is that Anzhi will undergo a reformatting.

"Manyof our expensive stars will leave Anzhi, while the club's budget willbe decreased to $50-$70 million (￡32.5-￡45.5m) a year.

"We failed to clinch rapid success. Now Anzhi will develop its academy according to the medium-term plans of club development."

Mourinho buoyed by Eto'o's desire to join Chelsea

The 32-year-old forward recently admitted he was keen to work under thePortuguese once again, while the Chelsea boss has refused to rule out amove for the Cameroon international

Jose Mourinho is buoyed after learning that Anzhi Makhachkala striker Samuel Eto'o is keen to join Chelsea.

Reportshave suggested the big-spending Russian side are looking to cut costs,with the 32-year-old forward among the players who could be offloadedthis summer.

Eto'o claimed he would relish the chance to workwith Mourinho once again after winning the Champions League and Serie Aunder the Portuguese at Inter, while the Chelsea manager refused to ruleout a move for the Cameroon international.

"I am always happy that somebody that worked with me previously is happy to be back and work with me again," Mourinho told BT Sport.

"That is a good feeling that I have, when I read something that Samuel is keen.

"It is fantastic for us, but we are going to see what happens."
