Manchester United face competition for Cesc Fabregas from three Premier League rivals.

Sky sources understand United's opening bid of £25million, communicated to Barcelona on Monday, has sharpened interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.

And Arsenal must now decide whether to follow up their initial interest and take advantage of a clause in Fabregas' contract allowing them first refusal on their former captain, who rejoined Barca in 2011 following eight years in north London.

For his part, Fabregas has repeatedly said he is happy in Catalonia, although Sky sources are indicating he would be open to a move elsewhere if Barca accepted a bid.

That has not happened yet, and United are still awaiting a response to their offer, which was lodged as David Moyes steps up his chase for a creative influence.

Barca, meanwhile, may be reluctant to lose another midfielder so soon after Thiago Alcantara's recent move to Bayern Munich.

Cesc's staying! Moyes snubbed AGAIN as Fabregas tells Barca boss Vilanova he wants to STAY at Nou Camp

Manchester United boss David Moyes is set to be snubbed by Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas who has told manager Tito Vilanova he wants to remain with the Catalan giants.

United confirmed yesterday they had launched an ambitious £26million bid for the former Arsenal captain.

The move came after Thiago Alcantara opted to rejoin his former manager Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich instead of joining the Barclays Premier League champions.



And now Barca boss Vilanova has revealed talks with Fabregas who has made it clear he wants to stay at the Nou Camp.

Vilanova said: 'Cesc has received offers from other clubs. I talked with him and he told me he wants to stay. His dream is to triumph here.

'We're very happy to have Cesc. I'm conscious that he has received offers, but he spoke to me, says he's happy, no chance of leaving.'
