Cavani 'set for PSG medical'



Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani is expected to undergo a medical on Monday as he completes his move to French champion Paris Saint-Germain from Serie A side Napoli, according to Italian media.
Cavani will then reportedly sit down with PSG sporting director Leonardo and other club representatives to finalise the remaining details of the transfer before signing a five-year contract said to net him 10 million euros ($14.37 million) annually.

The transfer fee, thought to be worth around 63 million euros ($90.56 million), would be a new Ligue 1 record, eclipsing the 60 million euros ($86.25 million) sum paid by Monaco for Colombia forward Radamel Falcao.Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis fired a parting shot on Sunday at Cavani, who topped the Serie A goalscoring charts with 29 goals last season, saying the striker 'was thinking only of money'.
He also claimed Zlatan Ibrahimovic would not stay at the Parc des Princes next season, saying: "Ibrahimovic won't play with Cavani, he has already been promised to others."

Edinson Cavani is on the brink of signing for Paris St Germain in a record-breaking £55million deal.

The Uruguyan hitman will join from Italian side Napoli after snubbing a move to the Barclays Premier League.

Manchester City and Chelsea were both keen to sign the striker but he has opted for a move to France.

Cavani touched down in Paris today and was spotted leaving Pitie Salpetriere hospital after completing his medical.

The French champions will hold a press conference on Tuesday afternoon where they are expected to unveil their new signing.
