Everton have boosted their strikeforce with the signing striker Arouna Kone on a
three-year deal.
The Ivory Coast striker joins from Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee. Hescored 13 goals for the Latics last term but now joins up again withRoberto Martinez after the Spaniard became Everton manager earlier thissummer.
Martinez signed Kone from La Liga side Levante in 2012and the powerful frontman quickly adapted to the Premier League withsome muscular displays.
The 29-year-old has scored goals whereverhe has been, having also played for Belgians Lierse SK, Dutch outfitsRoda JC and PSV and Sevilla in Spain.
He has played his part in three African Cup of Nations campaigns and was also selected for the World Cup in Germany in 2006.
Having played international football at the end of last season Kone is set to link up with his new teammates later this month.

signed a two-year deal with the Blues after his contract with Wigan expired.
He has been granted a work permit and follows
Arouna Kone in switching to the Blues this summer.
The new Everton chief knows Alcaraz well, having signed him for Wigan from Club Brugge in 2010.
The30-year-oldhas been an international since 2008 and played in the 2010World Cupbefore helping Paraguay to the final of the 2011 CopaAmerica.
Hemade a total of 68 appearances in his three years atthe DW Stadium,although he missed much of the 2012/13 campaign throughinjury.
But he was fit to take his place in the starting line-up for the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.
Healsonetted the only goal of the game against Blackburn Rovers on 7 May2012 -a strike which effectively secured Wigan's Premier League statusandrelegated the Ewood Park outfit.
His playing career beganwithTeniente Farina in Paraguay before moving to Racing Club inArgentina. Hemade the switch to Europe in 2002, first at Fiorentinabefore moving toBeira-Mar in Portugal's top flight.
He spentfour years inPortugal, racking up over 100 appearances as the mainstayof theirdefence before switching to Club Brugge in 2007.
After three seasons in Belgium Martinez moved to add the 6ft 2ins stopper to his Wigan squad.
Alcarazsoonbecame a key player for the Latics with his six month absencebecause ofa torn groin muscle midway through last season regarded as amajor blowfor Martinez's former club in the battle against relegation.
