Arsene Wenger fears Santi Cazorla could miss the rest of the season after undergoing a second procedure to repair his achilles tendon.Cazorla hasn't played since October due to the problem and had surgery to cure the injury last month. He was expected to be out until March, but the influential Spaniard has suffered a setback in his recovery that has caused him to require an additional operation. Wenger said: 'Santi is far from starting to run again. He had a little procedure and we have a meeting with the medical people today to see what it really was.
'Certainly he will not be available in the next six weeks, that is for sure.
'Will he play again this season? I hope so because once you start to go outside, you have to count six weeks' preparation. 'At the moment he is not at that level.
'Let's hope he can come back in the next three or four weeks on the pitch.'
Wenger has urged Mesut Ozil to add more goals to his game as talks continue over a new contract. The Germany midfielder has scored nine goals so far this season — already his best season's return since joining the club in 2013.
But Wenger says there is more to come from his coveted midfielder, who wants a new deal worth at least £200,000 per week. 'I think what you want of him is to score goals,' said Wenger.
'We all feel certainly that there is still a gap there between what we can do. He is moving in the right way but always, from such a talent, you are maybe a little bit unjust because you always want more. You feel there is no limitation in his game and so you always say.'
And Wenger believes his future as Arsenal manager will play only a small part in Ozil's decision on whether to extend his contract, despite the player saying it would be a key factor.
'He would like to know what happens on the managerial front of course, but I don't think that's the main part of his decision. There are many ingredients in all negotiations.'
