Chelsea manger Roberto Di Matteo has insisted that the club has not signed Internacional midfielder Oscar.The highly-rated youngster has been linked with a move to the Blues and London rivals Tottenham and reports had suggested a deal had been completed but the Italian has denied these claims.“I can tell you that he’s not a Chelsea player so it’s difficult for me to talk about a player that doesn’t belong to us,” he said.“I know there has been speculation we are interested in this player and in due course if there is anything to announce we will do. All I would say is that he is a very young talented midfield player.”

Chelsea are closing in on the capture of Brazilian ace Oscar after he underwent a medical on Wednesday, Sky Sports understands.

A deal in the region of £25million has already been agreed by the European champions with his club Internacional.

Coincidentally, Oscar has flown to England with Brazil's Olympic squad which has enabled him to undergo a medical after being given permission to attend by his national coaches.

Sky Sports sources also understand that Chelseaanticipate no problems with his work-permit - meaning the move could very well be completed before the Olympic football tournament begins next week, although an announcement is not expected until his participation is over.

And it is understood Oscar is not the only Olympic player on Chelsea's radar as they are also believed to be in talks with Marseille over Spanish full-back Cesar Azpilicueta.

The highly-rated 22-year-old, who is also participating in the games, moved to France in 2010 from Osasuna - but financial problems at the Stade Velodrome means they could be willing to cash in.

Chelsea are reported to have turned their attentions to Cesar after a move for Inter Milan's Maicon hit complications.

The Brazilian held talks with the Blues but failed to agree terms and is now reportedly back on Real Madrid'sradar.

Oscar: Could be heading to Chelsea from Internacional

Reports coming out of Brazil claim Chelsea and Internacional have reached an agreement over Oscar.

The talented Brazilian schemer claimed on Friday that he had undergone a medical at Stamford Bridge, but had not yet made up his mind over whether he would make the move to West London this summer.

It now though looks as if a deal has moved a step closer after Internacional president Giovanni Luigi claimed the two clubs had arrived at a verbal agreement.

"There is a verbal agreement between the two parties. But we have to put that on paper and the lawyer of both clubs have to discuss the matter," he told Radio Guiaba.

Oscar, outstanding in Brazil's 2-0 defeat of Team GB on Friday, has reportedly also attracted admiring glances from Tottenham but it Chelsea who now seem very much in the driving seat for his signature.
