By Chris DavieSao Paulo have confirmed a deal has been agreed with Arsenal to keep Denilson on loan for another season.
The 24-year-old already spent the last campaign at the Brazilian club after being unable to cement a regular first-team role in Arsene Wenger's side.
"Arsenal rightly did not want to let Denilson go at the beginning, because of his quality and his good campaign here," Sao Paulo's director Adalberto Baptista told the club's official website.
"But fortunately, we spoke with Arsenal's directors and it was settled that the player will stay. I am sure that he will keep helping us a lot in this period."
Denilson, who began his career at Sao Paulo, has heavily featured for his former club during his first term on loan and the midfielder insists he is pleased with the decision to stay in his homeland.
"I am very relieved, this is a big happiness. Now, I have to be even more focused and work hard to help Sao Paulo win titles again," said Denilson.
"I am ready. I spent some days outside Sao Paulo to rest, so I am ready to get back on track and train with my team-mates. We have a very big game on Sunday."

Campbell joins Betis
Arsenal youngster agrees season-long loanLast Updated: July 6, 2012 9:47am
Young Arsenal striker Joel Campbell has joined Real Betis on a season-long loan deal, the Primera Liga side have announced. It is the second long-term loan spell arranged for the 20-year-old Costa Rica international, who spent last term in France with Lorient.
Campbell scored three goals in 27 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit and Arsene Wenger believes that his development will be benefited by another spell gaining further first-team experience.
The forward passed his medical with the Spanish outfit on Thursday before putting pen to paper on the deal for the coming season.
Campbell joined Arsenal from Deportivo Saprissa in August 2011 and is still to make his first-team bow for the North London club.
The summer signings of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud mean that he has slipped further down the pecking order with the Gunners.
