Fleetwood Town have completed the signing of Blackpool midfielder Barry Ferguson on a three-month loan.
As revealed by Sky Sports earlier on Friday, former Scotland midfielder Ferguson had agreed a loan switch to the ambitious League two outfit.
Ferguson was keen on a loan move away from Blackpool after finding himself down the pecking order at Bloomfield Road in recent weeks.
The 34-year-old is set to go straight into the squad for Saturday's FA Cup encounter with non-league Bromley at Highbury.
Fleetwood chairman Andy Piley hailed the signing of the former Rangers and Birmingham City star as a 'huge day' for the club.
"Barry is a fantastic coup for the football club and a massive signing," Piley told the club's official website.
"His footballing credentials are second to none and this is a huge, huge day for Fleetwood Town."
Piley also revealed Ferguson took a pay cut to make the move to Fleetwood, adding: "Discussions have been held this week and Barry has really bought into the Highbury project, so much so he has taken a pay cut to drop into League Two.
"We are a hugely successful and progressive club and signing someone who has achieved so much in the game speaks volumes for our footballing aspirations."
