Footballer Fabrice Muamba 'Stable' After Collapse

Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba has collapsed on the pitch during a game with Tottenham.

He was rushed to hospital, where a spokesman said he is currently in stable condition after medical staff managed to restore his breathing.
Earlier, reporters at White Hart Lane had said Muamba's breathing had stopped.
It is still not clear what caused the footballer's collapse.
There was no action going on around him when he collapsed 41 minutes into match.

Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba appears to be in a stable condition at a North London hospital after he collapsed on the pitch in the FA Cup tie with Tottenham.

After being treated by six paramedics, Muamba, 23, was rushed to hospital where a spokesman said he is currently in a stable condition after medical staff managed to restore his breathing.

Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Fabrice Muamba has been admitted to the Heart Attack Centre at the London Chest Hospital where he is currently in a critically ill condition in intensive care.

No further information will be issued at this stage.

The club has requested the media to respect his family's privacy at this time.
