David Beckham keen to see Chelsea's Frank Lampard join him at LA Galaxy - reportThe former Manchester United man has been trying to persuade his countryman to switch to the MLS, with his own move to Paris Saint-Germain increasingly unlikely
David Beckham has spoken to Chelsea's Frank Lampard about a potential move to LA Galaxy, claiming that he would love the lifestyle in California, according to The Sun.
The pair met at the publication's Military Awards on December 19 where the former Manchester United man tried to persuade the out-of-favour Blues' midfielder to join him in the MLS.
The report states that Galaxy could match the Stamford Bridge player's £150,000-a-week wages despite already having three players over the salary cap, one of which being Beckham himself.
A MLS source was quoted as saying: "Galaxy have three designated players — Beckham, Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan, who is on loan at Everton.
"However, there could be a way around the rules so Lampard could also join."
Beckham had been reportedly set for a move to Paris Saint-Germain, with Lampard also rumoured to be of interest to former coach Carlo Ancelotti, who was installed as the Ligue 1 club's new boss on Friday.
However, the former England captain's move to the French capital now appears to be unlikely.
