Twente announced on their official website that they have appointed Steve McClaren as their new head coach. The former England boss has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Enschede side.
The 2010 Eredivisie champions were in the market for a new trainer following the departure of Co Adriaanse earlier this week and they have now found their man in the 50-year-old McClaren.
McClaren previously worked at the Grolsch Veste from 2008 until 2010 and helped the Tukkers claim their first ever Eredivisie title.
He left Twente for Wolfsburg in the summer of 2010, but got the sack halfway through the season. He then joined Nottingham Forest at the start of the 2011-12 campaign, only to resign in October following a string of disappointing results.
Twente currently sit third in the Eredivisie table with 33 points from 17 games.
