The Bundesliga outfit are looking to bolster their midfield and are allegedly pondering a swoop for French youngster and Norway international

Bundesliga outfit Hamburg are interested in signing Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta on a one-year loan deal, while they have also set their sights on Rosenborg playmaker Per Ciljan Skjelbred, reports in L'Equipe and Hamburger Abendblatt respectively suggest.

HSV are looking to add some fresh impetus to their attack and new sporting director Frank Arnesen, who joined the club from Chelsea this summer, sees the 20-year-old Kakuta as the perfect addition.

Kakuta, who can play both in midfield and up front, is considered to be one of the most exciting youngsters at Stamford Bridge, but he has so far been unable to secure regular first-team action at the Premier League giants.

Therefore, he could be farmed out again during the 2011-12 campaign, after spending the second half of last season on loan at Fulham.

The French U-20 international would be the fifth Chelsea youngster to move to Hamburg this summer after the previous transfers of Jeffrey Bruma, Michael Mancienne, Jacopo Sala and Gokhan Tore.

However, Kakuta is not the only player who has caught the attention of the Bundesliga club, as HSV have also set their sights on the 24-year-old Skjelbred.

The Norway international has a contract until December 2011 with Rosenborg, and his current club could decide to cash in on the playmaker this summer in order to prevent him from leaving on a Bosman move.

Director of German club has revealed that his side face stiff competition in the race for the midfielder as both Barca and PSG have made significant offers

Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt has claimed that Champions League winners Barcelona and Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain have offered ?13 million for Toulouse star Etienne Capoue.

The Bundesliga outfit are keen to lure the 22-year-old midfielder to Gelsenkirchen, but they apparently face stiff competition in the race for Capoue's signature, and Heldt reckons that both the Spanish giants and the Qatari-backed French club have made an approach to land the player.

"Paris Saint-Germain have made a ?13m bid for Capoue, while Barcelona have offered the same amount. However, Toulouse have turned both offers down," the Schalke supremo was quoted as saying by Der Westen.

Capoue, who has been capped at under-21 level for France, has a contract until the summer of 2015 with Toulouse. The holding midfielder has made over 100 official appearances for the Ligue 1 side since making his official debut for the club in December 2007.

Barcelona have been linked with a whole host of transfer targets in the summer so far, and are thought to be close to concluding a deal for Udinese's Alexis Sanchez, while their pursuit of Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas continues.

Valencia & Udinese battling it out for Almeria's Pablo Piatti - reports

The Argentina international has gathered a list of admirers and a summer transfer could be on the cards

Pablo Piatti could be on his way out of Segunda Division side Almeria in the summer transfer window, as both Valencia and Udinese have shown an interest in signing the forward, La Gazzetta dello Sport and Marca report.

The 22-year-old attacker has a contract until the summer of 2015 with the recently-relegated Spanish side, but is eager to move to a bigger club ahead of the new season.

Udinese are in the market for a new attacker because of the expected departure of Alexis Sanchez to Barcelona and they see Piatti as a possible replacement.

Barca vice president Josep Maria Bartomeu met with Gino Pozzo, son of Udinese owner Giampaolo, at the weekend to discuss the final details of the Sanchez deal and the Serie A side's interest in Piatti could mean that the Chilean's transfer is imminent.

The Serie A side face stiff competition from Valencia, however, in the race for Piatti's signature. The Mestalla outfit are looking to add some more creativity to their squad, and with uncertainty regarding the future of winger Juan Mata, who has been linked with Liverpool, they see the Argentina international as a possible alternative.

Valencia are reportedly ready to offer ?6 million for Piatti and it could prove tempting for Almeria, who may be forced to cash in on their star player this summer after falling through the Primera Division trapdoor.

Santos part ways with Barcelona's Keirrison

The striker has been told his services are no longer required and will now try to find his fourth club in just two years

Santos have announced they have decided to part company with loanee Keirrison.

The Brazilian striker has failed to impress since joining the club on loan last summer, having scored just 10 goals in 32 appearances for the club.

Keirrison has not featured for Santos in recent matches, and the Copa Libertadores champions have decided to let the striker return to Barcelona as his situation would not improve.

"This release is a decision of the board. It is a facilitator for Keirrison in the search for a new club," Santos director Nei Pandolfo was quoted as saying by Lancenet.

"Since the transfer window in Brazil closes on the 20 July, Barcelona can now handle his loan to any other club in Brazil if they see fit."

Meanwhile, Santos attorney Joao Vicento Gazolla has confirmed that the club have already let Barcelona know of their decision and will know the response of the Catalan club on Tuesday.

Keirrison has failed to impose himself at every club he has been loaned out to since completing a ?14 million switch to Barcelona in the summer of 2009, having played for Benfica and Fiorentina, before trying his luck at Santos.

Fulham fancy Riise move

Skysports.com understands Fulham are lining up a move to bring former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise back to the Premier League.

Fulham boss Martin Jol is in the market for a new left-back with Mexican defender Carlos Salcido expected to leave Craven Cottage as he is homesick.

The Cottagers were thought to be considering a move to bring out of favour Liverpool defender Paul Konchesky back to Craven Cottage, but it appears their interest in the full-back has cooled.

Riise is now on Jol's radar with sources in Italy claiming Fulham have expressed an interest in the Roma defender.

Norway international Riise is entering the final year of his contract and he is expected to leave the Italian side this summer rather than the capital-based club seeing him move on a free transfer next summer.

New Roma coach Luis Enrique has already lined up a deal for Riise's replacement having made a move for Sporting Gijon's Jose Angel meaning they are open to offers.

Riise is believed to be keen on a return to England after enjoying seven successful years with Liverpool prior to his switch to Roma in 2008.

Should Riise make the move to Fulham he will join up with brother Bjorn Helge in West London.

Official: Wolfsburg sign Hasan Salihamidzic from Juventus on one-year deal

Former Bayern Munich midfielder eager to take on 'interesting project' as he returns to top-flight German football following departure from Italian club after four years in Turin

Wolfsburg have announced the arrival of Hasan Salihamidzic on a 12-month agreement after his contract with Serie A club Juventus expired.

The 34-year-old midfielder was not offered a new deal by his former club, and has wasted no time in heading back to Germany on a free transfer.

An official statement released by Wolfsburg reads:

"VfL Wolfsburg have secured the services of midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic. The 34-year-old, who joined up with the team at the training camp in Glucksburg on Monday evening, has signed a deal for the 2011-12 season. The former Bosnia-Herzegovina international (43 games, six goals) was most recently signed to Juventus. The new signing will wear the number 11 shirt at VfL."

Speaking of his hopes for his second stint in Germany following spells with Bayern Munich and Hamburg previously, Salihamidzic said:

"For me it was clear that after Bayern and Juventus, not every club would come into consideration. Back then, Felix Magath gave me the chance to play football and for that reason it was clear to me that I would do this. Here I am part of an interesting project that Felix Magath has built up."

Salihamdzic made just one start under then-Juventus coach Luigi Del Neri last season, prompting his release from the Turin club.

Pedro to stay at Barça until 2016

FC Barcelona has announced an agreement with Pedro Rodríguez for him to stay at the Club for one more season, until June 30, 2016. His buy-out clause has been increased from 90 to 150 million euros.

He will sign on Thursday at around 11.30. After that, he will be appearing for photographs outside the FC Barcelona offices.

Jovanovic hopeful of Olympiakos move

Liverpool winger Milan Jovanovic is hoping to begin talks with Greek giants Olympiakos after revealing that he has been told by the Reds he is free to find a new club.

Jovanovic, 30, failed to assert himself on the first-team picture in his debut season at Anfield, making just ten appearances after arriving at the club from Standard Liege last summer.

The Serbia international has now been told that he does not feature in Kenny Dalglish's plans and is free to bring an end to his ill-fated spell at the club.

"I got the paper from Liverpool that I am free to search for a new club," Jovanovic said. "Up to now, I still haven't received an official offer from Olympiakos, but I am looking forward to hearing their plans."

Jovanovic was signed by former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez before he left the club and featured fleetingly under Roy Hodgson before making just one start under Dalglish.
