Wolfsburg's Simon Kjaer joins Roma on loan - report

The Denmark defender has reportedly signed on the dotted line and a transfer appears ready to be formally announced on Wednesday

Roma have completed the signing of Wolfsburg centre-back Simon Kjaer on a season-long loan deal, according to Sky Sport 24.

The Serie A outfit have reportedly shelled out ?3 million to sign the 22-year-old on a temporary basis, with a ?7m option to purchase at the end of the season included in the deal.

Earlier on Tuesday, Kjaer was quoted as saying he was hoping to complete a move to Roma quickly after growing frustrated at last-minute delays to the transfer.

The Denmark international joined Wolfsburg from Palermo in 2010 for an undisclosed fee, but he has not been able to impress at the Bundesliga outfit and is hoping to kick-start his career in Italy.

Real Madrid's Royston Drenthe set to join Galatasaray - report

The Dutchman is looking to resolve his situation in the next few hours, with a free transfer to the Turkish club reportedly in the pipeline

Real Madrid outcast Royston Drenthe is on the verge of joining Galatasaray, according to Spanish news daily AS.

The Dutchman has one more year to run on his contract with the Bernabeu outfit and is currently assessing his options as the transfer window gets set to close.

The 24-year-old, who returned to Madrid in the summer following a season-long loan at Hercules, has been training separately from the first team.

It is believed that Galatasaray are unwilling to pay any fee for the left-sided player, which may result in Real Madrid terminating the player's contract by mutual consent.

Drenthe signed for Madrid from Feyenoord in 2007 in a deal worth ?14 million but has never been able to impose himself at the club, having been strongly linked with a move to Benfica earlier in the summer.

Official: Olympique Lyonnais snap up Mouhamadou Dabo from Sevilla

The French full-back has decided to return to his homeland after enduring a frustrating year in Spain

Olympique Lyonnais have announced the signing of full-back Mouhamadou Dabo via their official website on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old joined Sevilla last summer on a free transfer from Saint-Etienne but could not hold down a regular place under coach Gregorio Manzano.

His situation did not improve under new coach Marcelino Toral, which forced the Spanish club to offload Dabo.

Lyon and Sevilla have agreed a ?1 million fee for the French defender plus ?800,000 in add-ons.

The transfer of Dabo is likely to fuel speculation that Aly Cissokho is heading out of the club, with Newcastle understood to be interested in the former Porto man.

Arsenal are preparing to shatter their transfer record by lodging a £25 million (?28m) bid to prise Yann M'Vila from Rennes on deadline day, Goal.com can reveal.

The France international is Arsene Wenger's principal target in the last hours of the window and the manager is increasingly confident he can deliver a signing that would be a huge statement of intent.

Arsenal have already had a £22m (?24.8m) offer for the midfield anchorman rejected but sources have told Goal.com they will make another concerted attempt to sign the 21-year-old.

Officials have been locked in negotiations with Rennes on Tuesday and the two clubs are getting closer to reaching an agreement.

Wenger himself was in France, although he will return to London to take training with the non internationals on Wednesday, after Arsenal were given two days off following their 8-2 humiliation at Manchester United.

Goal.com understands that M'Vila is the main priority for Arsenal after a whirlwind 24 hours in which they have completed the signing of South Korea captain Park Chu-Young for an initial £3m (?3.4m) fee and reached agreements to buy defensive duo Per Mertesacker and Andre Santos for a combined £14.1m (?16m).

The Germany centre-back and Brazil left-back both underwent medicals on Tuesday and are expected to finalise their moves shortly.

Wenger is still in the market for another experienced centre-back, although, as Goal.com revealed earlier on Tuesday, he has cooled his interest in Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka and Scott Dann.

Arsenal have also made an enquiry for Fulham's Clint Dempsey but have not yet opened talks on a possible deal for the player valued at £10m (?11.2m by his club).

With the window due to shut by 11pm on Wednesday, sources regard defensive midfield and centre-back signings as more likely.

M'Vila is contracted to Rennes until 2015 but Arsenal believe there is a strong will on the player's behalf to follow what is a well trodden path from Ligue 1 to the Emirates Stadium.

The French club are believed to be holding out for £30m (?33.8m) but Arsenal are hopeful an agreement can be reached on a £25m (?28m deal).

Wenger has received excellent reports on the qualities of M'Vila and his ability to bring greater steel to a midfield that has been found sorely lacking in that department in their opening three Premier League fixtures of the season.

Newell's Old Boys defender Ignacio Fideleff is one step away from becoming the latest summer recruit for Napoli, after it was confirmed that the player will travel to Italy in order to complete a deal before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday evening.

Ole reveals that the 22-year-old, along with his agent and various officials from the Rosario club, left the Argentine city on Tuesday afternoon en route to Milan, where he will meet with Napoli club directors. If a reported ?1.5 million deal can be finalised by both parties, Fideleff will continue on to Naples where he will undergo a medical and sign a contract with the Italian club.

Newell's treasurer Jorge Ricobelli confirmed their intention to sell the ex-Argentina Under-20 player, although he admitted that it would be a race to finalise the transfer before the window slams shut.

"We do not have much time. Tomorrow the transfer period closes in Italy," stated the director, who is among the party travelling with Fideleff.

"We are travelling in a hurry and with the player so that he can undergo the medical. We are going right at the last minute."

The central defender has made 21 appearances for the Rosario club since debuting in 2008.

Atletico Madrid have tabled an offer to sign Wolfsburg playmaker Diego on loan, according to Spanish news daily AS.

The Liga outfit have been credited with an interest in the playmaker in recent weeks as they look to solidify their options in the middle of the park.

It was initially believed that Atletico would spend a fee in the region of ?10 million to sign Diego on a permanent basis, but a new report now suggests they are only considering a loan swoop for the former Juventus man.

AS claims Atletico have only put aside ?5m of their budget for Diego, with that figure destined to cover the player's wages.

The Spanish club are now waiting for Wolfsburg's answer to their offer for the Brazilian, who is not part of the Bundesliga side's plans after falling out with coach Felix Magath towards the end of the last season.
