Sky Sports sources understand Bolton have had a bid accepted for Liverpool striker David Ngog.

The Trotters have long been linked with a move for the 22-year-old Frenchman and are looking to push through a deal before the passing of Wednesday's transfer deadline.

Ngog moved to Anfield in 2008 when former Reds manager Rafa Benitez brought him to the club from Paris St Germain.

He made 38 appearances for Liverpool last season but Kenny Dalglish sees him as surplus to requirements following a busy summer of recruitment.

Meanwhile, Owen Coyle has a contingency plan in hand should much-coveted central defender Gary Cahill depart the Reebok Stadium.

If Cahill does make a dramatic exit, then Coyle has lined up Manchester City's Nedum Onuoha as a replacement.

Shaun Wright-Phillips looks set for QPR - while deals involving Craig Bellamy, Cameron Jerome, Anton Ferdinand and Scott Dann remain on the cards.

Oh, and Manchester City have still yet to confirm the signing of Owen Hargreaves on a free transfer.

Skysports.com understands Wigan are in talks with Birmingham over a possible move for Jean Beausejour.

Wigan are believed to have agreed a fee with Birmingham for the Chile international and they have given him permission to talk to the Latics.

Birmingham are resigned to losing Beausejour as they look to trim their wage bill following their relegation to the Championship.

The 27-year-old joined Birmingham from Club America in January 2010 and helped Blues win the Carling Cup last season.

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is keen to bolster his attacking options before the transfer window closes and Beausejour would help fill the void left by Charles N'Zogbia's departure.

Martinez has already signed Spanish winger Albert Crusat this week, while Shaun Maloney is also in talks about a switch to the DW Stadium.

Sky Sports sources understand Queens Park Rangers are interested in bringing Craig Bellamy to Loftus Road.

The 32-year-old striker is way down the striking pecking order at Manchester City and is expected to leave the club before the end of the transfer window.

It is thought the Wales international will depart on loan and a number of clubs have been chasing his signature during the summer.

Bellamy, who spent last term on loan at Championship side Cardiff City, is understood to be keen on a return to former club Liverpool, although nothing has materialised on that front as yet.

QPR have been busy in the market following Tony Fernandes' recent takeover but are looking to strengthen up front ahead of what will be a long campaign in the Premier League.

Sunderland could make a deadline-day swoop for Wolfsburg and Germany striker Patrick Helmes.

The 27-year-old forward left Bayer Leverkusen for Wolfsburg in January for £4.5m but could be on his way out of the Volkswagen Arena after just a short period.

Manager Felix Magath has allowed Helmes to withdraw from training and the Black Cats could make a move to bolster their attacking options, while French club Evian have also been monitoring his situation.

Magath told kicker-Sportmagazin: "Patrick Helmes has not been training with our squad on Tuesday, I have allowed him to do so."

Helmes has netted 35 goals in 82 Bundesliga matches in his career to date as well as two goals in 13 internationals for Germany since his debut under Joachim Low in 2007.

Marseille have confirmed that striker Andre-Pierre Gignac is abroad negotiating a move away from the club.

Reports have suggested that a host of Premier League clubs are keen, with Fulham, Everton and Blackburn all linked whilst Genoa and Olympiakos have also been mentioned.

Marseille have not revealed who their striker is talking to, but confirmed he is set to leave.

"I understand he is abroad," assistant coach Guy Stephan confirmed.

"There are negotiations currently ongoing, but we need all three parties [two clubs and player] to agree. Maybe it will or will not happen."

Marseille themselves are still in the market for a new striker ahead of Wednesday's transfer deadline
