Boateng opts for Ukraine
English clubs fail to lure Ghana international

Derek Boateng has completed his move to Ukrainian side FC Dnipro, as a proposed move to the Premier League fell through.

Skysports.com revealed that West Brom had been leading the chase in England for the Ghana international, and made an approach.

But they could not agree terms with the Spanish club, who had already seen their demands met by Dnipro.

Aston Villa also showed an interest, but Boateng has now sealed a move to the Ukraine outfit.

The 28-year-old midfielder has now penned a five-year deal with Dnipro.

Djordjic set for switch
Former Man Unitd and Rangers man to join Blackpool

Blackpool are set to finalise the signing of Bojan Djordjic, skysports.com can confirm.

The 29-year-old has extensive experience of English football having first joined Manchester United back in 1999.

He failed to make the breakthrough at Old Trafford and had numerous loan spells before joining Rangers.

After leaving the SPL giants he joined Plymouth, before switches to AIK and Videoton.

The midfielder is now on his way back to England and he is set to sign for Ian Holloway, who he previously worked with at Plymouth.

Djordjic is now set to sign a two-year deal at Bloomfield Road.

Stoke rule out duo leaving
Potters insists Shawcross and Huth going nowhere

Stoke director of football John Rudge insists there is "no way" Stoke want to sell either Robert Huth or Ryan Shawcross.

There has been speculation over the futures of Shawcross and Huth with Stoke in the market for defensive reinforcements.

As revealed by skysports.com earlier this month, the Potters have made a move for Birmingham defender Scott Dann.

However, Rudge claims any possible arrival of Dann will not mean the club will be losing either Shawcross or Huth.

Strengthen

"We are looking for another defender, as that is an area we feel we need to strengthen at the moment," Rudge told The Sentinel.

"It's nothing to do with Ryan or Robert leaving, it's because Abdoulaye Faye has left the club.

"They (Shawcross and Huth) are both good lads and good players, so you would be reluctant to do anything with them because they can be the future of this football club.

"They are also a decent age, so there's no way you would want to lose them."

Allardyce - No bids for trio
Green, Cole and Parker all linked with returns to Premier League

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has insisted the club have yet to receive any formal offers for Robert Green, Carlton Cole or Scott Parker.

The England trio are expected to leave the Hammers this summer following their relegation to the Championship.

Allardyce accepts that some of his squad will want to be playing top-flight football next season, but insists no offers have been forthcoming as yet.

Parker has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, Cole with Stoke City and Green with Aston Villa.

Concrete bids

"The speculation is around Rob Green, Carlton Cole and Scott Parker, and at the moment we haven't had any concrete bids for those players," he said. "Other than that there is no rush to sell anyone else.

"We will probably look at moving some of the players on because their desire is to play in Premier League.

"From a financial point of view, it suits us to lose that financial commitment because the drastic loss in revenue [following relegation] is what we all have to face at West Ham; certainly the owners, who've got to really back up with their own money to help us try to get back in the Premier League.

"We will try and get as good a squad as we can. There's some very good players at the club. If we all want to work together and go in the right direction, we can give it our best shot and hopefully that will be enough next season."

RANGERS MAKE BID FOR CUELLAR

Rangers have confirmed they have lodged an offer with Aston Villa as they step up their bid to take Carlos Cuellar back to Ibrox.

But owner Craig Whyte has told new Villa boss Alex McLeish that goalkeeper Allan McGregor is not for sale.

McLeish has already been linked with a move for the Scotland number one but the sale of McGregor appears unlikely to be used as part of a deal to bring defender Cuellar to Glasgow.

Whyte said: "I've said that Allan is not for sale. We have not been approached by anybody about him.

"We've made a bid for Cuellar but, with their managerial change, it has slowed there a bit."

Meanwhile, Whyte believes a £2million asking price for Dundee United striker David Goodwillie is too much but refused to rule out further dialogue with the Tannadice club.

He added: "I think, for that individual player, £2million is too steep.

"But I am sure there are more conversations to be had with Dundee United.

"That price is too high in my opinion but others might have a different view."
