Everton have slapped a world-record £100m price tag on wantaway striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Premier League top scorer has refused to sign a new contract at Goodison and wants to leave for a side in the Champions League.

But Everton are determined to keep hold of Lukaku and say they will only consider selling him this summer if a club meets their huge valuation of the 23-year-old.

Lukaku was the subject of interest from Chelsea last year but the Blues received no bid for a player they valued at around £70m.

But Everton now believe the Belgium’s worth has increased to £100m after a season in which he has plundered 24 league goals to top the scoring charts.

The sky-high valuation will be designed to put off any clubs looking to take advantage of his contract stand-off.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman confirmed this week that Lukaku does not want to sign a new deal, saying: “He told me he won’t sign a new contract.”

But the Blues boss has told the striker he must “respect” the final two years of his current deal.

The world’s most expensive footballer is Paul Pogba who cost Manchester United £89m last summer when he signed from Juventus.

Everton's Romelu Lukaku says decision has been made over his future

Romelu Lukaku has told Sky Sports News HQ that he knows where he will be playing next season.

The Everton striker has not signed a new contract and continues to be linked with a move, amid reported interest from Chelsea and Juventus.

Lukaku has remained tight-lipped on his future but on Monday night, after Belgium's friendly victory over the Czech Republic, he revealed a decision had been made.

"My agent knows what's going to happen," the 24-year-old told SSNHQ. "I know what I want to do, and whenever something happens, you guys will know."

Lukaku had looked to be on the verge of signing a new Everton contract earlier in the campaign, but rejected a new offer at Goodison Park in March, outlining his ambitions to play in the Champions League.

He scored 25 goals in the Premier League as the Toffees finished seventh behind Manchester United.

Lukaku also described his reactions to Eden Hazard's injury, having been in Belgium training when the Chelsea midfielder fractured his right ankle last Sunday.

"I was next to him when he slipped," Lukaku added. "It was the last action of the game and we all thought it was just a twisted ankle.

"He stood up and he was really positive. Then we heard the scan results and we were really disappointed for him, because he's a key player.

"He's had a great season so it's disappointing for a big player like him to get injured but he's got a good mentality and he's a good professional so I hope he comes back really quick."

Lukaku dedicated Belgium's win to Cheick Tiote, who died on Monday at the age of 30 after collapsing during a training session in China.

The pair got to know each other at the Anderlecht Academy when Tiote was breaking into the first team.

"He was there the first year I arrived and I saw him frequently," Lukaku said. "This is such a shock. He was a really nice guy, a great guy and a leader as well. Every time I saw him after that and played him in the Premier League, he remembered me as a small kid.

"It's devastating for the players of the Ivory Coast and his family and friends. All our thoughts are with them."

LUKAKU 'AGREEMENT' WITH NEW CLUB

Romelu Lukaku says an agreement has been reached with his new club, but there's no immediate plans to reveal which club it is.

Asked by Sky Sports News HQ when an announcement will be made he said: "I don't know. I really don't. My agent knows what's going to happen and I know as well. I am staying calm.

"We have an agreement with the club as well, so we just stay calm, but at least we have a direction where we want to go"

He also confirmed to the Belgian media that the club will be competing for the Champions League and the Premier League next season.
