Dons snap up Bullard

Former Wigan and Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard has today (Tuesday) signed a short-term deal with Milton Keynes Dons Football Club.
With his deal running until 31st December, free-agent Bullard is the fifth signing Karl Robinson has added to his side this summer and it comes just days before the transfer window slams shut.
The talented midfielder follows in the footsteps of Alan Smith, Jon Otsemobor, Ryan Lowe and Antony Kay, who have all made the switch to stadiummk to join the Dons’ promotion push. He will be available for selection this weekend when the Dons take on Carlisle United.
Bullard started his career with Gravesend & Northfleet before a short spell with West Ham United lead to a switch to Peterborough United.
After making over 70 appearances for the Posh, Bullard joined Wigan Athletic in 2002 where he quickly established himself, helping them win Division Two in his first season and became a pivotal player in helping Athletic climb to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history.
In three years in Greater Manchester, Bullard racked up an impressive 157 appearances for the Latics and his time in the Premier League caught the attentions of a number of high-profile clubs.
In May 2006 it was Fulham who captured the midfielder’s services for a £2.5 million fee. Bullard went on to spend three years with London-based club making over 40 appearances.
Then in January 2009, the Newham-born player earned himself a big money move to Hull City for a club record fee of £5 million.
After two years with the Tigers the one-time Premier League Player of the Month joined Paul Jewell’s Ipswich Town on loan where he went on to score on his debut. Netting five times in 16 appearances during his brief spell, Bullard completed a permanent move to the Trotters last August.
Bullard will wear the number 13 shirt and spoke exclusively to mkdons.com after signing and said: "It's all happened pretty quickly for me.
"I came up to speak to Karl last night and I loved what he had to say and, to be fair, he has given me the opportunity to play football which I have missed.
"I'm happy to get my feet in the door and to play for a football club who wanted me. I've had a nightmare with injuries and I have been out of the game so I'm glad to be back."
