Jack Wilshere and Samir Nasri have criticised referee Massimo Busacca after Arsenal's UEFA Champions League defeat to Barcelona.
The pair have been left hugely frustrated in the wake of their 3-1 second-leg defeat at Camp Nou on Tuesday night, which led to a 4-3 aggregate elimination at the last-16 stage.
Barcelona's stunning performance has been overshadowed by Arsenal's perceived injustice at the red card of striker Robin van Persie in the 56th minute when the score was still only 1-1 on the night.
The Dutch international was shown a second booking by inconsistent Swiss match official Busacca for appearing to kick the ball away after a whistle for offside, and it has been claimed that the event changed the course of the game.
Van Persie protested that he could not hear the whistle above the 95,000-plus crowd in the stadium, but Busacca was not interested and he was confronted by an irate Wenger after the match.

Wilshere was left extremely disappointed, as he told Sky Sports News: "
We all know it was the wrong decision, but that's part and parcel of football.
"I think we dealt with it quite well. We know Barcelona are a good team. If you want to go down to 10 men against anyone, it's not Barcelona."But the reality was also that Arsenal were completely outplayed by Barcelona, who scored through two Lionel Messi goals, one from the penalty spot, either side of a strike from Spain star Xavi.
Pep Guardiola's team enjoyed 76 per cent possession and managed a total of 17 shots, while their Premier League opponents could not muster a single effort at goal in the entire match, as their consolation came through a Sergio Busquets own goal.
Attention now turns to Saturday evening's FA Cup quarter-final at Manchester United, but Arsenal forward Nasri has also refused to move on from the performance of Busacca.
The Frenchman said on his personal Twitter account: "Thank you for your support once again you were amazing. Djourou was also left annoyed by the performance of the match officials in Spain.
He told Sky Sports News: "We definitely did very well, even against a team that we know is very difficult to play here.
"But, you know, 1-1 and unfortunately we have a decision against us that changed the game."
Bacary Sagna supported the theory that Van Persie, who described Busacca as 'a joke', was hampered by the deafening fans at Camp Nou.
The right-back said: "I don't know how he can hear because the ref was maybe 50 metres behind so it is for him impossible to hear the whistle."
He added: "It was a bad decision."
