Rovers have swooped to land exciting young Barcelona striker Rubén Rochina.
The 19-year-old forward has signed for an undisclosed fee on a contract which will run through until the summer of 2015.
Delighted Rovers' boss Steve Kean said: "Ruben is a genuine addition to our senior squad, a young player with great ability, who can play in a number of attacking positions. He joins our elite development group, alongside the likes of Phil Jones and Junior Hoilett, and will compete for a place in the team from the word go.
"The fact that we are able to sign young players from the likes of Barcelona is further evidence of the owners' intention to push the club forward. They told me they were keen to add to our youth development group and this is a significant and exciting signing for us."
Valencia born, Rochina has been with the Catalan giants since an early age and has been a regular member of Barcelona's B team which plays in the Spanish second division for the last couple of seasons. This term he has 13 appearances and 2 goals to his name.
He also has honours for his country up to under 19 level, and was part of the Spanish under 19 squad that reached the final of the UEFA Under 19 championships in France last summer.

Kean swoops for Formica
Posted on: Mon 31 Jan 2011
Rovers tonight completed a fourth move in the January transfer window with the addition of highly-rated Argentine playmaker Mauro Formica.
Formica has signed a contract through to summer 2014, arriving at Ewood Park from Newell's Old Boys for an undisclosed fee.
A product of the Newell's Old Boys academy, the creative midfielder was capped at youth level for Argentina before he made his club debut at the age of 18.
Nicknamed Gato (meaning "Cat"), the 22-year-old is rated as one of Argentina's brightest prospects and is manager Steve Kean's fourth January signing following the arrival of Roque Santa Cruz, Jermaine Jones and Rubén Rochina.
The Rovers boss said: "Mauro is a fantastic talent, an attacking player who has been in great demand. He has great technical ability and is a typical Argentinian with a bit of fight and a bit of devilment in him.
"He's an exciting talent and I must say that this transfer window has progressed really well for us."
