Blackburn have snapped up striker Benjani from Manchester City on a one-year contract.
Rovers have been chasing the signature of the 32-year-old, who was a free agent following his release from Eastlands at the end of last season.
Benjani, who scored four goals in 23 league outings for City, made an impact on Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce while training at the club.
The Zimbabwe international could go straight into the squad for Rovers' Premier League clash against Arsenal on Saturday.
