He makes mistakes, yes, some very obvious ones in lineup and substitutions. But as a whole, it's improvement season by season. On the transfer market,
Rafa seldom buy us flops when he spent big money. Kuyt and Alonso are masterpieces, Aurelio and Aggers look promising. The squad quality is getting better. May be it's just because we provided Rafa with enough cash, but sure I know it's not the same if
Houllier is here.
On the league position, yes, we look horrible at the moment. And I don't see we can improve on the
82 points from last season. But again it's just mid-way. We already played
ManUtd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bolton away, some of the top teams in the table right now. And we are yet to play them at home with our better-than-any-other-team home record. Plus we are still competing in 4 fronts: Champions League, League, FA Cup, League Cup. We shouldn't take it for granted too if we consider things could all easily go wrong like ManUtd in the Champions League last year.
Maybe winning this and that cups for Liverpool may not say too much. But winning
2 titles for Valencia does speak something for
Rafa's experience and methodology: he knows how because he's been there. Firing Benitez? While the season is half way undergoing?? Sorry but I can't disagree more!!!!
