343.....it may work against Watford. Really hope not against Chelsea!
I think it's been a worry this season to defend against any wing play. When our opposition is playing high ball tactic, no problem, Hyypia or Agger have been doing a good job clearing those balls and our back four are experience enough to find the right timing to set up offside trap. It's the 2 wingbacks that got exposed the most, namely Riise and Finnan. And not just against the best or the fastest wingers like C.Ronaldo or Robben that we had problem, but against almost every team that do wing tactic.
The problem is not just Riise and Finnan, but I think lie in the performance of Alonso. Much less screening was provided compared to Sissoko, who basically do nothing good except putting pressure on opposition, intercepting, and tackling. It's a rather tough call in my mind to whether start with Sissoko or Alonso after they are both fit, based on Alonso's minimal involvement in both attack and defense this season compared to his usual self.
Nevertheless, great goals to watch against Watford especially the last goal. What a confidence booster!
