Arsenal expect to complete their shock £20million swoop for Jamie Vardy in the next 24 hours.Discussions have accelerated at rapid pace with only the formalities of the deal now left to conclude.Arsenal are confident the deal will be rubber-stamped before Vardy leaves for Euro 2016 on Monday.Arsene Wenger has sanctioned a swoop for the Leicester City forward after several top-flight clubs were sounded out by the player's representatives.

Vardy is happy at Leicester but will be 30 in January and knows this could be his only chance to join an elite club.Sportsmail can reveal Arsenal were contacted last month and it is understood he wants a four-year deal in excess of £100,000 a week.Given Vardy's age and the size of the fee, a transfer was considered with caution as there is unlikely to be any sell-on value, but Wenger has decided to make his move.
