Petr Cech has won the Premier League Golden Glove after keeping 16 clean sheets in his first season at Arsenal. The Czech Republic shot stopper won the award three times with Chelsea and, after his £10m switch to the Gunners last summer, has proved a key member of Arsene Wenger's side in 2015/16.
Cech was beaten just 31 times in 34 Premier League appearances this term as Arsenal secured second place - their best league finish in 11 years. Manchester City's Joe Hart - winner of last season's award - Manchester United's David de Gea and Leicester City's Kasper Schmeichel were tied for second in the standings, after keeping 15 clean sheets each. De Gea had the chance to equal Cech's mark on Tuesday in United's postponed fixture with Bournemouth, but failed to keep the Cherries out in a 3-1 win. Cruelly for the Spaniard, it was a stoppage-time own goal by Chris Smalling which denied him the chance to share the award with the Arsenal stopper.
The Premier League Golden Glove award was created in 2004/05 and since then Hart has picked up the PRIZE outright on the most occasions, keeping more clean sheets than his rivals in four seasons. Cech has also won the Golden Glove four times, but shared the award with Wojciech Szczesny in 2013/14.
