[NEWS] Davichi's contract with Core Contents Media has expired but
they will still release one more album with CCM before decide to stay or leave. Nothing else is comfirmed.
Earlier today, there's news about talented and popular female duo Davichi ended their contract with Core Contents Media (CCM) on February 23, thus making them free agents at the moment.
One CCM rep told Star News on the 28th, "Davichi's contract has expired so we're currently negotiating with them... Nothing has been confirmed yet." But another rep from the agency stated, "Davichi's contract has expired and their contract renewal does not seem likely." So at the moment, there's no official announcement.
However, in a later press release, it's revealed that Davichi will release more music with CCM, keeping the loyalty
Despite the expiry of their contract with CCM, the duo is not leaving immediately. Instead, they're preparing for one more album with CCM before decide to leave or stay. It's a mini-album and planned to release in May.
It is very unusual to work with an agency for an album when your contract (with the agency) has ended, but they've made such decision considering their previous 7 years together, demonstrating strong loyalty.
At the moment, there's no further information about what's the next step the famous duo, Lee Haeri and Kang Minkyung, has in mind, but agencies around are showing interest, and Davichi is willing to negotiate with them as well as CCM.
CEO of CCM, Kim Kwang Soo advised to them,"Slowly look for other agency and think carefully whether it's the best choice."
