Jurgen Klopp Confident He Can Win Premier League Title at LiverpoolLiverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is confident he can guide his new club to their first ever Premier League title within four years.
Speaking at his first press conference since being appointed as Brendan Rodgers' successor, the former Borussia Dortmund boss has christened his new side as "one of the biggest clubs in the world" and has admitted that he is extremely proud to have been given this opportunity.
Facing up to the British press for the first time, Klopp said on taking the job: "It is the biggest honour I can imagine.
"It is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I have an opportunity to try and help in a situation that is not so difficult as some of the people in this room feel. It is a good moment to come here. I am proud.
"The intensity of the football and how the people live football in Liverpool... It is not a normal club. It is a special club."
Klopp believes that he can guide the club to their first ever Premier League title, but he hoped that he would be given the right amount of time to embed his methods. Klopp also appreciates that the task of winning the Premier League will be a big one given the other clubs competing for the championship.
He said: "
The Premier League is one of the most difficult leagues in the world because five, six, seven clubs can be the champions. We have to develop, and it's important we play our own game,
"The players have to think that they can meet the expectations of the people. We have to change from doubters to believers."
Speaking on being given the role, he said: "It is surreal. But I have to accept this. I don't care about things like this. I am a normal football manager and I want to work with the team and be on the pitch. When I left Dortmund, I felt it was not so important what people think when you come in but what they feel when you leave.
