Man City expected to make second bid for West Brom's Jonny Evans
Manchester City are expected to make a new offer for Jonny Evans after this weekend's games, Sky Sports News understands.The Baggies boss Tony Pulis has confirmed ahead of their clash with Stoke, live on Sky Sports Premier League on Sunday, that they have not had any new offers for their skipper since the first.
Centre-back Evans was the subject of a failed £18m bid from City earlier this month, with Pulis making no secret of his desire to keep hold of the veteran defender.
The Northern Ireland international, who has missed West Brom's unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a hamstring injury, was named in Michael O'Neill's squad for their forthcoming World Cup Qualifiers.Regarding Evans' future, Pulis said: "The directors are dealing with all that. There's been no contact from Man City for a couple of days now.
"Jonny's a West Brom player. Arsenal were interested last summer, but there was no offer this summer. I should imagine he'll be fit for the Northern Ireland games. Sunday might be a bit too close.
"Whether Jonny goes or not, centre-half is one of four areas we need to fill. I could say Wimmer, Gibson, someone else. Nothing's been done so we can't talk about it.
"There's four more positions we'd like to bring people in. It's a stressful two weeks for managers, players and supporters.
"We've got Jonathan Leko, Kane Wilson and Rekeem Harper going out on loan if we can get the right players in. They'll have an opportunity to go and play league football."
West Brom play Stoke this weekend, live on Sky Sports Premier League, and Pulis is expecting another tough challenge against his former employers.
