Neymar: Barcelona forward given permission to leave for PSG

Neymar has been given permission to leave Barcelona as he looks set to join Paris St-Germain in a 222m euro (£198m) deal.

The Brazilian, 25, told his team-mates at training on Wednesday that he wanted to leave the Spanish giants.

He was then given permission by manager Ernesto Valverde not to train and to "sort out his future".

The forward's release clause is 222m euros, which PSG are understood to be ready to pay.

Potentially big Neymar development...

La Liga have told Sky Sports News that they will NOT accept the payment from PSG to trigger Neymar’s release clause.

They are expecting PSG to visit their offices this afternoon.

A spokesman for the office of La Liga president Javier Tebas said:

"We will not accept the money for the liberation clause, the reason is that we have doubts that this money is in accordance with UEFA Financial Fair Play rules."

Neymar's buyout clause is believed to be ?220m.
