West Brom are interested in signing Kieran Gibbs and have approached Arsenal to discuss a potential transfer, Sky sources understand.

Sky Sports News HQ has been told the Gunners want around £10m for the defender, but Albion are not prepared to pay that amount.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis, who is currently with his squad in Hong Kong for the Asia Trophy, has been looking for a specialist left-back and sees Gibbs as his best option.

The 27-year-old made just eight Premier League starts last season and 22 appearances in all competitions overall - his second season struggling for first-team games.

Gibbs has 10 England caps but has fallen out of the national-team frame while his chances have been limited under Arsene Wenger.

Gibbs is a product of Arsenal's academy, who made his debut during the 2007-08 after spending a short time on loan at Norwich City.

West Brom have so far made only two signings this summer; Jay Rodriguez from Southampton and Zhang Yuning from Vitesse but the 20-year-old has been loaned to Werder Bremen.

West Bromwich Albion have made an enquiry to Arsenal over a possible move for full back Kieran Gibbs.
It is understood that Arsenal want to offload the left back and are listening to offers from a number of clubs.
West Brom are the latest to state their interest in the player but don't want to pay the £12million that Arsenal want for him.
Newcastle have also been linked with Gibbs who played eight times for Arsenal in the Premier League last season.
Watford are also believed to be interested with boss Marco Silva someone who admires the 27-year-old.
Arsenal are keen to raise further cash following the purchase of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette for £53m.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis insists they will not be signing Arsenal full-back Kieran Gibbs this summer. Arsenal have rejected a £10m bid from West Brom for Gibbs, according to Sky sources.

"We won’t be signing Kieran Gibbs. We have to look for players that fit what we want to do and the way we want to play. We have three or four other targets we are desperate for.

"We are juggling with two at the moment and that’s not Gibbs. Hopefully by the time we get back home we will have done those two."

Kieran Gibbs has been told he can leave and Arsenal want £12m for the left-back.

GIBBS FACES WAGE CUT

Kieran Gibbs is reportedly a target for Watford – but Sky sources understands he would have to take a significant drop in wages if he was to leave Arsenal.

The 27-year-old England left-back was left out of Arsenal’s squad for the Emirates Cup this weekend and has been linked with moves to West Brom and Newcastle in this window.

He has a year left on his contract but new Watford manager Marco Silva wants to increase his quota of English players. Gibbs has lost his first team place to Nacho Monreal.
