SIMON JONES:
Tottenham have signed Argentina U20 international Juan Foyth from Estudiantes in a £8million deal. The 6ft 3ins central defender can also play in midfield and chose Tottenham ahead of Paris St Germain after holding talks with compatriot Mauricio Pochettino.
Talking to El Dia earlier this week, Foyth said: 'It’s a club that bets on the young and I think I’m going to have a chance to play. I also spoke with Mauricio Pochettino and I liked what he said. It’s what helped me decide that Tottenham was the right place to continue my career.
'He told me to go, train and that I would be involved and I would play. He also told me what the club is like.'
Tottenham’s recent Champions League draw also excited Foyth: 'It’s a beautiful. Those teams are very nice to play, but at first, I think about being able to settle there fast and catch up.'
Foyth was recently called in for a meeting by Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli and added: 'The greatest dream of every footballer is to play in the Argentine national team. But I don’t want to think about that now, but to settle at Tottenham.'
