Real Madrid have reached an agreement with city rivals Atletico over the transfer of young defender Theo Hernandez.The 19-year-old, who has been at Atletico since the age of 11, turned down repeated new deals as well as offers from a number of other European clubs.Atletico said the defender had an unwavering desire to move to the Bernabeu, where he will sign a six-year deal.Hernandez, who spent last season on loan at Alaves, never made a senior appearance for Diego Simeone's side.
He featured in two pre-season matches last season and was under contract until 2021. But both Atletico and Realhave no confirmed that Hernandez will cross the city divide to join Los Blancos.
The 19-year-old, who was born in the French city of Marseille, joined Atletico in 2008 at the age of 11 before rising up the ranks of their youth system.
He made 38 appearances for Alaves last season, scoring two goals and picking up 13 yellow cards and two reds.'(Hernandez) repeatedly rejected proposals to renew his contract at Atletico Madrid as well as offers from different European clubs, while at the same time repeatedly expressing his firm desire to play for Real Madrid,' an Atletico statement said.
Real said the defender would be presented to the club's supporters and media on Monday evening.
