Swansea City in talks with Tottenham's Kyle Naughton



Swansea City are in talks with Kyle Naughton after having a bid accepted for the Tottenham full-back.

The fee for the former England Under-21 defender is believed to be around £5m.

The likely arrival of Naughton, 26, could mean the Swans are ready to sell current first choice left-back Neil Taylor, who is interesting two clubs.

Crystal Palace have made a new bid of £4.5m for the 25-year-old, with West Brom also thought to be keen on the Welsh international.

Taylor has been a regular starter in Garry Monk's side following Ben Davies' move to Tottenham in July 2014, making 23 appearances for the Swans this season.

Swansea, who have money to spend following Wilfried Bony's move to Manchester City,

which could be worth up to £28m, also approached Championship side Norwich on Monday about the availability of Sweden defender Martin Olsson.

The right back is currently discussing personal terms with the Welsh club.

Naughton, 26, has struggled to establish himself in Spurs' first-team since arriving from Sheffield United in 2009 and has been the subject of interest from a number of Premier League clubs in the current window.

Both Leicester, whom he previously spent time at on loan, and Crystal Palace believed they were in a strong position to sign the full-back but he is now on the verge of a move to South Wales.

Manager Garry Monk's desire to strengthen his squad in the current window was heightened at the weekend following the 5-0 thrashing at home to Chelsea.

Sky sources understand the Swans recently turned down a bid from Palace for full-back Neil Taylor and the club are keen for striker Bafetimbi Gomis to remain at the club following the sale of Wilfried Bony to Manchester City.

Tottenham, meanwhile, must raise funds by selling current fringe players if they hope to bring in any new additions of their own in this window, with Naughton having made just 10 appearances in all competitions this season.

Kyle Naughton is set to sign for Swansea having completed a medical and agreed personal terms, according to Sky sources.
