Fenerbahce defender Diego Lugano has left the Turkish champions to join ambitious Paris Saint-Germain, the Istanbul club have confirmed.Goal.com announced on Friday that the two sides had agreed a ?3 million fee for the Uruguayan defender who captained his nation to Copa America glory in July.
The Turkish club stated on their website: "Our club would like to thank him [Lugano] for his efforts and wish him good luck in his next football chapter."
Lugano had been linked with several Serie A clubs over the summer including Juventus, Genoa and Lazio, but big-spending PSG have beaten off all competition.
The player has called a press conference for Saturday evening in Samandira where the defender is expected to confirm the transfer himself.
Fenerbahce are currently embroiled in a match-fixing scandal which saw them expelled from this season's Champions League and could ultimately see the club relegated from Turkey's top tier.
