Alan Pardew: John Carver & Steve Stone take temporary charge

John Carver and Steve Stone are set to be in charge for Newcastle's next two matches with Alan Pardew poised to become Crystal Palace's new manager.

The two clubs have agreed compensation for Pardew to succeed Neil Warnock, who was sacked on Saturday.

Pardew did not take training on Tuesday and assistant manager Carver and first team coach Stone have stepped in.

They will oversee Thursday's Premier League home game against Burnley and Saturday's FA Cup tie at Leicester.

Pardew is set to leave the Magpies, who are ninth, for 18th-placed Palace.

"Crystal Palace have offered compensation at a level whereby Alan has now been permitted to speak to them," said a Newcastle statement on Monday night.

Pardew, 53, has been Newcastle manager since December 2010 and is currently the fourth longest-serving manager in English football, after Arsenal's Arsene Wenger, Exeter City's Paul Tisdale and Karl Robinson of MK Dons.

Premier League: Newcastle's Fabricio Coloccini not in running for manager's job

Club captain Fabricio Coloccini is not in the running to become the next manager of Newcastle, Sky sources understand.

The Magpies captain had emerged as the surprise favourite for the job should Alan Pardew, as expected, leave St James’ Park to take over at Crystal Palace.

But Coloccini is not believed to be in contention for the manager’s job at Newcastle, with caretaker-boss John Carver and Steve Stone expected to be in charge of the team for the visit of Burnley on New Year’s Day.

Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood and Hull boss Steve Bruce have also been linked with the role.

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has accepted a charge of violent conduct from the Football Association.

Cisse was involved in an incident involving Everton's Seamus Coleman during the Barclays Premier League fixture at St. James' Park on Sunday, 28th December.

Cisse has accepted the charge and will now serve a three-match suspension, which starts with immediate effect.

Garry Monk 有的唔同，佢做 interim player-manger 果陣已經準備季尾退休，之前已經考左個 UEFA B License，仲已經讀緊 UEFA A License，跟住利用埋果 12個星期豁免期拎埋個 license，所以其實佢只係提早少少做咁解……

Coloccini 呢類咩牌都未考，仲要未準備退休，如果真係俾佢做，我估球壇人士個個都會好似加力查既反應……

不過幸好只係流傳無成事……

Newcastle United skipper Fabricio Coloccini won't replace Crystal Palace-bound Alan Pardew as Magpies boss despite speculation

Fabricio Coloccini is not currently under consideration for the Newcastle United manager's job.

The Argentina international is one of the bookies’ favourites to take the vacant post in the aftermath of Alan Pardew leaving for Crystal Palace.

But Coloccini - who does not have the right qualifications for the job as he has not started his coaching badges - is not on the United radar at this moment.

The likes of Glenn Roeder and Alan Shearer have managed United before without coaching badges but the pair had already started their studies and were handed special dispensation.
