Robert Snodgrass: Hull boss Steve Bruce confirms six-month lay-off



Hull manager Steve Bruce has confirmed Robert Snodgrass will be out for at least six months with a knee injury, BBC Radio Humberside reports.
The Scotland winger, 26, came off at half-time in Saturday's 1-0 win at QPR.
Speaking before the team flew out to Belgium for Thursday's Europa League tie with Lokeren, Bruce said Snodgrass would see a specialist on Wednesday.
The player tweeted:  "Gutted ....!!! But I will work as hard as I can to come back fitter and stronger."
Snodgrass joined Hull in a £6m deal from relegated Norwich this summer.
Speaking after Saturday's match, Bruce said: "Snodgrass is a concern. He's twisted his knee. He's in a brace and crutches at the moment.
"We fear ligament damage and, if it is, it'll obviously be a long time."
Snodgrass scored seven goals in 34 appearances last season as the Canaries were relegated from the Premier League.
Should a six-month lay-off be confirmed, Snodgrass would also miss Scotland's four opening European Championship qualifiers, as well as a friendly against England in November.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce says Robert Snodgrass's six-month injury lay-off is a "tragedy" for player and club.

Bruce revealed this morning that Snodgrass is facing a long spell on the sidelines after damaging his knee in the opening Premier League game of the season at QPR.

The former Norwich winger has dislocated his kneecap and damaged ligaments. He will now require an operation to rebuild his knee.

Snodgrass tweeted this morning: "Gutted! But I will work as hard as I can to come back fitter and stronger."
