Hull's Maguire bid accepted 
Hull have had a second bid for promising Sheffield United defender Harry Maguire accepted by the League One club. The towering centre-back, 21, attracted offers from Wolves earlier in the summer but United stood firm before 'reluctantly' accepting an improved bid from Hull.
United managing director Mal Brannigan, told the club's official website:
"We made it clear that we wanted Harry to stay by offering him a new contract at the end of last season, unfortunately he and his representatives chose a different path.
"However, as he is under contract at Bramall Lane, we exercised our right to set our own valuation of him and after numerous bids
which did not meet our expectations, Hull City increased their offer and we have reluctantly accepted.
"As we have previously stated, Sheffield United are not under pressure to sell our players
but on this occasion it was deemed the best for all parties and now we move on with the aim of assisting Nigel Clough to strengthen his squad."
Maguire is set to become City's fourth major summer signing after manager Steve Bruce splashed out on Robert Snodgrass and Jake Livermore and snapped up Tom Ince on a free transfer.

Dundee United defender Andrew Robertson's representative says he will only sign for Hull City if the move progresses his career. Robertson is in talks with Hull after the two clubs agreed a fee reported to be £3m for the 20-year-old Scotland international. The 20-year-old full-back, who only became a professional last year after joining the Tannadice club from Queen's Park,
has attracted interest from a number of other Premier League clubs with West Ham and West Brom reported to be keeping tabs on him.
The player's representative, PFA Scotland lawyer Liam O'Donnell, said: "Andy is in talks with Hull.
"Clearly, it's a massive decision for him and he will carefully consider all the aspects of this potential move.
"The most important of these is to try to continue the excellent progress he has made these past 18 months."
United boss Jackie McNamara admits he is hoping for a shock U-turn.
"The two clubs have agreed a fee so we’ll find out in the next couple of days whether it’s either a 'yes' or a 'no' and hopefully it’s a 'no'," he told the Daily Record.
"We’ll wait and see. It’s all down to Andrew and his family, the decision he makes. He’s got to speak about personal terms, his future.
"Selfishly, I hope he decides to stay another year but sometimes these things are out of your control."
