Bacary Sagna is close to reaching an agreement with Arsenal over a new contract, Goal understands.

Sagna’s representatives have held positive fresh talks with the club and the Gunners hierarchy believe they have made a breakthrough in their attempt to extend the player’s deal beyond this season.


The right-back is believed to be settled with his family in London and is increasingly likely to snub offers from Liverpool, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco and Inter Milan to remain at Arsenal.

Goal reported last month that the Londoners had offered Sagna a two-year, £75,000-a-week contract that includes an option for a third year.

This falls short of Sagna’s £100,000-a-week demands but further inducements have subsequently been offered to keep one of Arsenal’s longest-serving players.


Arsene Wenger has been heavily involved in his fellow Frenchman’s contract talks despite the uncertainty over his own future beyond this season.

Sagna, who turned 31 in February, can leave Emirates Stadium on a free in the summer and is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a new club.

However, there is growing confidence among the Arsenal hierarchy that 18 months of negotiations will result in a successful outcome for the club.

Wenger has always been keen to hold on to Sagna, who has been a key figure for Arsenal this season and offers experience and versatility that would not be easy to replace.

The Gunners have looked closely at replacement right-backs in the last year, with Frankfurt's Sebastian Jung currently top of their target list should Sagna decide to leave.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers and City manager Manuel Pellegrini are also admirers of Sagna, who can operate in central defence as well as both full-back positions, and he is highly regarded in his native France.

從來都係普普通通到唔普通

篇野寫75,000 per week，應該加幅都唔係好高姐

乜原來不知不覺間，沙格拿已經係陣中算留得較耐既球員

講真作為FANS，都唔太理會佢地收幾多人工啦

比佢唔值o既咪更大有人在

佢打到閘又頂到中堅

後防缺人佢留係度會係好事丫

而且，唔見得唔續佢，WENGER真係會拎一大舊錢簽另一個

到時只會係贊師傅正選，Barca果件唔記得咩名做後備

情願佢繼續留隊，慢慢鋪贊師傅上位仲好

其實信心都係5050,  但係一隊以青訓為主既球隊,

好應該提昇一下自己既青年軍先,  贊師傅一睇就知麻麻地,

倒不如試吓一個有 heart 又有攻擊力既 RB

我就仲記得上季沙格拿傷左，佢正選果一段表現唔錯

曾經有人諗過沙格拿復出會唔會搶唔返正選

佢係欠經驗，欠穩定
呢兩樣都係年輕球員通病

如果拎輸8-2果年，甚至果場去評價師傅，太唔公平喇
兩年間，佢有進步架
