Manchester United will not name their new manager this week.
Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal is odds-on favourite (external) but refused to answer questions at his country's pre-World Cup training camp on Wednesday.
It was anticipated United would reveal the identity of David Moyes's successor after Tuesday's 3-1 win over Hull.
However, BBC Sport has learned that will not be the case, with the news unlikely to be revealed before Sunday's Premier League game at Southampton.

Dutch national team boss Van Gaal is leaving his role after the World Cup.
His side begin their preparations this week, with domestic players meeting at a secluded hotel near the small Dutch town of Hoenderloo for the start of a three-day training camp.
Van Gaal is scheduled to hold a news conference on Wednesday next week, by which time more should be known about his future beyond this summer.
The Netherlands have friendlies against Ecuador, Ghana and Wales in the coming weeks before heading to Brazil for the World Cup, and Van Gaal will be eager to avoid distractions.
Meanwhile, it is understood Giggs will meet with United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward on Friday for discussions about his future role.
Contrary to speculation, the 40-year-old has yet to accept any coaching position with the Old Trafford outfit.

After introducing himself as a second-half substitute against Hull, when he set up United's third goal for Robin van Persie, he revealed it was still to be decided whether he would extend his playing career by another year.
Giggs has already ruled out the possibility of playing for another club, meaning his 963rd appearance for his only professional club could turn out to be his last.
And he is not on his own in waiting to discover if he has a future at United.
Giggs and defenders Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra are yet to be offered contract extensions.
"I am pretty relaxed," said Giggs.
"I expect it is the same with Rio and Patrice. It is not as if they are young players. If they carry on, they carry on, if they leave, they leave.
"New players are going to come in anyway so I think it will get sorted for the three of us in the next couple of weeks."

Louis van Gaal will be appointed Manchester United manager after their final home game of the season against Hull City on Tuesday next week.

The club are expected to announce Van Gaal, 62, as David Moyes' successor on Wednesday, after United resolved a minor issue regarding Van Gaal's backroom staff.

United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will defy Sir Alex Ferguson's advice to appoint Ryan Giggs, whose future at the club,

along with his fellow Class of '92 coaching colleagues Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Phil Neville, and goalkeeping trainer Chris Woods, is now enshrouded in doubt.


Van Gaal's Holland national team assistant, Patrick Kluivert, physio Jos Van Dijk, goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek and analyst Max Reckers are all set to follow him to Manchester.

Kluivert memorably rejected United in 1998 to join Van Gaal at Barcelona, commenting, "For me, at that moment, there was only one club in England and that was Arsenal."

Van Gaal was always Woodward's preferred choice to replace Moyes, although Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was also under consideration,

but Real's 4-0 annihilation of Bayern Munich on Tuesday retained the club's hopes of a first Champions League title in 12 years.

Ancelotti has already brought the Copa del Rey back to Madrid and they remain in contention to regain the Primera Liga title.

Giggs was never considered to become United manager, despite Ferguson's public advice. "I think that he [Giggs] is the one man they should go to, really,"

Ferguson said at a fundraising dinner in Manchester last Friday. Despite the Scot's ambassadorial role at the club, his influence is waning, having anointed Moyes last year.

Van Gaal delayed announcing his 23-man Holland squad for the World Cup finals, fuelling speculation he was concluding negotiations with United.

The Dutch will rendezvous at their World Cup training camp in Hoenderloo next week.

Enjoying his second stint as Holland coach, Van Gaal won three Eredivisie titles, the Uefa Cup and the Champions League with Ajax in the 90s,

before succeeding Bobby Robson at Barcelona in 1997, where he collected two La Liga titles and the Copa del Rey.

A scarcely believable Eredivisie championship win with AZ Alkmaar in 2009 preceded a Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich, whom he led to the Champions League final in 2010.

Van Gaal faced Ferguson four times as a coach. Twice with Barcelona in 1998, as they and United played out two unforgettable 3-3 draws, and with Bayern Munich 12 years later, when they eliminated United from the Champions League quarter-finals on away goals.

Steve Bruce has urged Louis van Gaal to find a role for Ryan Giggs at Manchester United after warning the Dutchman that he faces a daunting rebuilding job at Old Trafford.

Van Gaal, the Holland coach, is expected to be secured as United’s new manager within the next 24 hours after he emerged as the favoured candidate to replace the sacked David Moyes.
