SUNDERLAND KEEN ON DEBUCHY
Sunderland are keeping tabs on Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy as manager Sam Allardyce looks to bolster his resources at both ends of the pitch, Press Association Sport understands.
The 30-year-old former Newcastle defender has expressed a desire to leave the Emirates Stadium this month in order to keep alive his hopes of making France’s Euro 2016 squad, with Aston Villa registering their interest.
PA Sport report Debuchy is one of a series of options for Allardyce, who wants a defender and attacking player to add to the captures of centre-half Jan Kirchhoff, frontman Dame N'Doye and third-choice keeper Steve Harper this month.
Debuchy left St James' Park for Arsenal in a £12million move in July 2014, but has made only seven appearances to date this season after missing much of the last campaign through injury.
