Pulis Joins Palace




Crystal Palace Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Pulis as manager on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Pulis will take charge of the first team following today's game against Hull City, with caretaker boss Keith Millen remaining in the dugout at the KC Stadium.

Pulis will watch the match against the Tigers from the stands, with his first game in charge of the club coming against Norwich City on Saturday 30th November.

The experienced 55-year-old has agreed terms at Selhurst Park following a six-month break from management,

since his highly-successful spell at Stoke City came to an end in May 2013.

Premier League: Tony Pulis and Neil Warnock head betting for Crystal Palace post

Tony Pulis and Neil Warnock are Sky Bet's early favourites for the vacancy at Crystal Palace following Ian Holloway's departure on Wednesday.

Former Palace boss Warnock (6/1) was marginal favourite initially for a second stint at the club.

But he has been replaced at the head of the betting by former Stoke boss Pulis, who has been cut from 6/1 to 2/1.

Roberto Di Matteo, Chris Coleman and Tony Mowbray are also considered contenders to replace Holloway,

who left the club by mutual consent on Wednesday having collected just three points from their opening eight games.

PULIS IN PALACE TALKS
Time to divert our attention away from international football for a moment because BBC Sport has learnt that Tony Pulis has held further talks with Crystal Palace.
The Premier League strugglers are closing in on appointing a new manager and the former Stoke City boss has been among the front runners since Ian Holloway left the club some four weeks ago.
Initially, the Welshman did express reservations about a number of aspects of the post. But talks have now reopened and Palace are hopeful of a positive outcome.

Crystal Palace are close to confirming Tony Pulis as their new manager.
The 55-year-old, who has been out of work since leaving Stoke at the end of last season, is finalising the deal, which is expected to be completed on Saturday.
He will succeed Ian Holloway, who left Selhurst Park on 23 October by mutual consent.
Palace are bottom of the Premier League, with four points from 11 games, going into Saturday's match at Hull.
The club's hierarchy returned to Pulis, who has been among the front-runners for the job since Holloway's exit,
after being disappointed by the calibre of the other candidates who had applied.
