Roma get five for El Shaarawy



Roma will reportedly have to make Stephan El Shaarawy’s move from Milan permanent after five games.

The forward has been on the verge of completing the transfer for several days, but it was held up by the Giallorossi’s need to sell Gervinho.

There has also been debate between the clubs, as Milan wanted it to be a loan with mandatory option to buy, whereas the Capital club would prefer it to be at their discretion.

According to the latest reports from La Repubblica, they have reached a compromise.

Roma will pay ?2m for the six-month loan and the option to buy for ?13m will become mandatory after five appearances.

This gives Milan more guarantees than the last time they sent El Shaarawy out, as Monaco played him for 24 games – one shy of the mandatory cutting off point – and sent him back to San Siro.

Stephan El Shaarawy is heading to the capital to finalise a deal to join Roma. The Italian international striker is expected at the city's Fiumicino airport around 8.15pm local time. It seems a formality that El Shaarawy will be a new player at Roma.

EL SHAARAWY UNVEILED

Roma have signed forward Stephan El Shaarawy on loan from AC Milan with an option for a permanent deal worth close to £10million.

The 23-year-old will be the replacement for Gervinho after the Ivory Coast international joined Chinese side Hebei Fortune earlier in the day.

Roma announced the El Shaarawy deal on their official website in a statement which read: "The Italian forward joins on a loan deal until 30 June 2016, for a fee of 1.4million euros (£1m).

"The agreement includes an option to make the deal permanent, for a fee of 13million euros (£9.8m), before the beginning of the 2016-17 season."
