NICKLAS BENDTNER is being lined up for a move to Premier League new-boys Hull and a reunion with Tigers boss Steve Bruce.
The Danish striker, 25, is back on the market following the collapse of his £3million switch from Arsenal to Eintracht Frankfurt.
That has left the way clear for Bruce to finally strengthen his newly promoted squad, with a player he knows from season-long loans at Birmingham and Sunderland.
He has been priced out of moves for Celtic’s Gary Hooper and Aston Villa’s Darren Bent and saw a £5m deal for Charlie Austin collapse when the Burnley striker failed a medical.
Bendtner, who was on loan at Juventus last season, wants regular first-team football.
And Bruce is ready to do a deal over wages because Hull can land him for £2m less than the fee they agreed for Austin.
Bruce also hopes to tie up the signing of ex-Newcastle keeper Steve Harper, 38.

Denmark international hit-man Bendtner is back on the market following the collapse of his £3m switch from Arsenal to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The deal fell through after the Bundesliga outfit refused to meet Bendtner’s £52,000-a-week pay demand.

Bruce has twice signed Bendtner, 25, on season-long loans – for Birmingham and Sunderland.

Nicklas Bendtner is being offered an escape route from Arsenal by newly-promoted Hull City.
Tigers chief Steve Bruce had the Gunners striker on loan for a season when he was in charge of Birmingham City.
Bendtner, 25, spent the 2006/07 season at St Andrews when Bruce's side were chasing promotion from the Championship.





Now Bruce wants the striker, who once boasted he would be the best player in the world, to join him at the KC Stadium.
Arsenal are so desperate to offload the Denmark international forward that they will pay up part of his contract as an incentive.







The Tigers will have to pay up to £3m for Bendtner, but Arsenal are desperate to get him out of the Emirates.

Hull will have to pay him more than £30,000 a week to make up the rest of the package, but Bruce wants him in his forward line.



Incredibly Bendtner spent last season on loan with Serie A side Juventus, but there is no room for him back in Turin.
He didn't score a goal for the Italians and was sent back to Arsenal at the end of the season after failing to make an impact.
Juve have just signed Carlo Tevez from Manchester City as they prepare for a dual assault in the league and Champions League next season.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce says he is hoping to make at least one more signing before the transfer window shuts but says the high wages of likely candidate Nicklas Bendtner could prove a stumbling block.
Bruce has taken Bendtner on loan during his time as manager at both Birmingham and Sunderland, and the Arsenal man could now be available on a more permanent deal.
However, Bruce thinks the Denmark international may prove unobtainable and pointed out that top strikers are not easy to acquire.
Asked if he was interested in Bendtner, Bruce said: "Everyone assumes that but the problem with Nic is whether I can afford him. He has a huge salary.
"I've been able to get him on loan at my last two clubs. I know the lad, he has terrific ability, but it's difficult with the amount of money he earns at the minute.
"For us to go and make a huge difference, to get a striker who can get 20 goals a year, where does a club like ours get them?
"They are few and far between and, if they are capable of getting 20 goals a season, they're usually too expensive.
"Can you get one in? It's always difficult but we're always trying. We're looking to get maybe one more in. That will prove difficult but we're working away."


Bruce expects backlash

Hull face Manchester City away in Saturday's early kick-off and Bruce knows their hosts will be eager to make amends for a loss to Cardiff last Sunday.
"We're expecting a backlash," said Bruce. "They will be desperately disappointed with how they lost that game. I didn't think they deserved to lose but Cardiff were terrific in that last 20 minutes.
"We've got to take the backlash of a big team and we have to be ready for that challenge.
"The big thing is to take part in the game and pose a few problems ourselves, if we can."
