Chelsea eye Jackson Martinez as Blues ditch plans to sign Wayne Rooney

Chelsea are ready to lodge a ￡25million bid for Porto striker Jackson Martinez as Jose Mourinho prepares to move on from Wayne Rooney.
The Blues have spent much of the summer transfer window tracking Rooney, and have already had bids of ￡25million and ￡30million rejected for his services.
And with United insisting the player will stay at Old Trafford, Chelsea are ready to look elsewhere.
Porto hitman Martinez is the new target, and according to reports in Portugal, Mourinho is hopeful of pushing through the transfer before the end of the month.

The Colombian striker, 26, scored an impressive 34 goals in 43 matches last season, and has previously been eyed by Real Madrid and Barcelona,
along with Tottenham.Martinez has a ￡35million release clause in his contract, but Chelsea believe they can tempt Porto into selling for ￡25million.
If the club play hard ball over the transfer, Chelsea will look at a deal for Anzhi star Samuel Eto’o, although his ￡300,000-a-week wage demands have put them off.
