Crystal Palace are delighted to confirm the signing of Morocco international striker Marouane Chamakh on a one-year deal.
The former Arsenal forward has joined the Eagles on a permanent deal after competing a medical in SE25, and will wear the number 29 shirt.

French-born Chamakh, 29, came to English football in June 2010, after joining Arsenal on a free transfer from Bordeaux, where he played more than 250 matches, scoring 61 goals.

He scored 14 goals during his time at the Emirates Stadium, before spending a spell on loan at London neighbours West Ham at the end of the2012/13 season.

Chamakh, who has also scored 17 goals in 63 appearances so far for his country, is the third striker to be brought in by Ian Holloway this summer, following the arrivals of Kevin Phillips on a free transfer and Dwight Gayle from Peterborough United.

Marouane Chamakh is due to have a medical at Crystal Palace on Friday ahead of his proposed arrival from Arsenal.

Palace boss Ian Holloway is preparing to make the Morocco striker his sixth new signing of the summer.

And a deal is expected in the next few days, according to Sky sources, although the structure of the deal is still the subject of discussion.

Chamakh, who has not played a Premier League game for Arsenal since May 2012, and had an unsuccessful loan spell at West Ham last season, is expected to move permanently on an initial one-year contract.

Holloway has admitted finding the transfer market a huge source of frustration this summer but has broken the Palace transfer record to sign Dwight Gayle from Peterborough.

Stephen Dobbie, Jerome Thomas, Jose Campana and Elliot Grandin have also arrived, while Kevin Phillips has re-signed for a further year.

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has confirmed the signing of Marouane Chamakh on an initial one-year deal from Arsenal.

The striker becomes the newly promoted side's seventh arrival of the summer following Jose Campana, Stephen Dobbie, Dwight Gayle, Elliot Grandin, Kevin Phillips and Jerome Thomas.

Chamakh had been out of favour at the Emirates Stadium, joining West Ham on a six-month loan in January but failed to score in three appearances.

Signing for Arsenal on a free transfer in 2010 after impressing for Bordeaux in Ligue 1, Chamakh struggled for form and eventually lost his place in Arsene Wenger's side and was restricted to cup competitions last term.

The Morrocan will now compete with the likes of fellow new signings Phillips and Dobbie for first-team opportunities this season.
