CITY COMPLETE ELMANDER LOAN

Sweden international forward moves on season-long deal

NORWICH City can confirm that Sweden international striker Johan Elmander has signed on loan from Galatasaray until the end of the season subject to paperwork
and international clearance. The 32-year-old becomes Chris Hughton’s eighth summer signing, and will start his second spell in the Premier League having spent three years
with Bolton Wanderers between 2008 and 2011.
He follows Javier Garrido, Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Gary Hooper, Leroy Fer, Carlo Nash, Nathan Redmond and fellow countryman Martin Olsson through the doors at Carrow Road.

Elmander said on arrival at the Club: "I'm very happy - I'm really looking forward to starting training with the lads and to playing some games also.
"I know Norwich City has great fans and there's a great atmosphere in the stadium, plus I know a couple of players here already too.
"I'm very glad that the deal has been done and now I'm looking forward to the season ahead."
City boss Hughton added: “I’m really delighted to bring in a player of Johan’s experience, not only at club and Premier League level but as a current international.
It’s great to welcome him to our squad.”

Elmander played 92 times for Bolton in the top flight after becoming their record transfer when he signed from Toulouse for ￡8.2m in the summer of 2008 –he scored 18 league goals for the Trotters before moving on a free transfer to Galatasaray at the end of his contract.
He’s made 52 appearances in all competitions for the Turkish giants, hitting the net 16 times.

The Alingsas-born Elmander was a midfielder in his early days at Holmalund, Orgryte and Feyenoord but found his goalscoring boots in later spells Djurgarden,
Brondby and then Toulouse. He has been capped 71 times by Sweden over his career, scoring 19 international goals along the way.
